Phonon focusing is key to understanding directional energy transport in crystals, but was previously observed mainly at low temperatures. Using the nanoscale spatial resolution of tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS), this work directly images phonon focusing patterns at room temperature, offering a new physical picture for micro/nanoscale thermal management.
